2011 Balanced Man Scholarship

Building Balanced Men

Fall 2011

Dear American University Student,

To support our mission of building balanced men, on behalf of Sigma Phi Epsilon I am proud to offer the Balanced Man Scholarship at the DC Delta Chapter of American University.

This Fall Sigma Phi Epsilon will award a quarter million dollars across 160 campuses nationwide to recognize new students who demonstrate balance and all-around excellence as a way to promote our ideals. We are pleased to offer three $350 scholarships at AU. Our goal is to reward men and women who exemplify qualities of a Sound Mind and a Sound Body, which we live out by being scholars, leaders, athletes, and gentlemen.

How is Sigma Phi Epsilon different? Our Balanced Man Program offers a no pledging, no hazing model that spans across all four years of a student’s college career. We pride ourselves on our continuous member development program that is unmatched throughout the Greek Community. Our brothers are constantly seeking to live the best lives they possibly can and prepare them for life’s journey, something difficult to achieve through one semester of pledging. Through the promotion of Sound Mind, Sound Body we will seek to equip members will all the tools they need to be successful.

We are the largest fraternity in the nation and since our founding we have always strived to be different. We are the first fraternity to boast a national GPA of 3.0. In addition, our chapter leads all Greek Organizations at AU with a cumulative 3.54 GPA. In our short history on campus we have grown to be one of the premier student organizations by helping men develop solid habits that lead to a balanced life.

To qualify for the Balanced Man Scholarship you must be in your first semester of classes at AU (freshman or transfer students) and must submit your application online at ausigep.org by October 1st, 2011.

Applicants have absolutely no obligation to join or affiliate themselves with Sigma Phi Epsilon to be eligible. I encourage you to check out our website, ausigep.org, like us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter @AUSigEp. If you have any questions whatsoever regarding the scholarship or are interested in joining our brotherhood please contact me personally at (609)-864-4015 or by email at joepolitowski@gmail.com. I hope to see you at our awards reception on October 23rd.

Sincerely,

Joe Politowski
